Where it all began...
Secondary School 2000
When I left secondary school, most teenagers wanted to be Accountants or Architects. For some peculiar reason I thought I wanted to be a volcanologist, well that never happened.
Although I was fascinated by Volcanoes, I always had a keen interest in computers (self taught and a huge influence from my late uncle), but it felt more like a hobby than something I considered as a profession.
Fixing and building computers was always fun, as was learning Basic and writing silly text based adventure games for BBC Micro computers (Volcanoes often involved).
My GCSEs didn’t go as well as I had hoped, the pathway to being a Volcanologist lacked clarity and the games taught me that they’re a bit dangerous (only the brave survived), so I kept my options open going into college by doing Law, Maths, Economics, and Computing.
